Below is information about the expectations that we follow at Francis Bradley Middle. We have high expectations for all students so that they can have the best opportunities and learning environments available.
Francis Bradley Expectations
APPROPRIATE DRESS
- The following guidelines outline the appropriate dress for your child to actively and safely take part in the instructional program at Bradley Middle School.
- Hats and bandanas are not permitted in the building.
- Shorts and skirts must be fingertip length and fit loosely (even if tights or leggings are underneath).
- Halter tops or tops secured by strings or elastic are not permitted. Tank tops must be a 3-finger width.
- No leggings, jeggings, or yoga pants.
- Upper torsos and midriff should be covered at all times.
- Pants must be worn at the waist.
- Pajama-like clothing and bedroom slippers are not permitted.
If students do not adhere to our dress code, they will call home to get a change of clothing and remain in ISS that day until an appropriate change of clothes is acquired. Additional consequences will be given as well:
1st offense: Warning
2nd offense: Warning & parent contact
3rd offense: Silent lunch/Teal Time
4th offense: Referral with BSD/ASD
5th offense: Referral with ISS
6th offense and any subsequent offenses: Referral with OSS
Consequences will start over at the beginning of each quarter.
- CELL PHONE POLICY A student may possess a cell phone on school property, at after school activities and at school -related functions, provided that during school hours and on a school bus, the cell phone remains off and put away. Failure to follow this policy will result in the confiscation of the cell phone and/or other disciplinary actions.
If a student has his/her cell phone confiscated, parents will be contacted by a school administrator. A report will be filed and parents will have to pick up the cell phone between the hours of 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM in the front office. Multiple violations of this policy will be addressed by losing the privilege to possess a cell phone on school property and the consequences outlined under the specific rule violated in the "Student Rights, Responsibilities & Character Development Handbook". The school is not responsible for theft, loss or damage to cell phones brought onto its property.
- ELECTRONIC DEVICES & OTHER PERSONAL PROPERTY Possession of toys, games, or other electronic equipment is not permitted on school grounds. Such items include but are not limited to skateboards, baseball bats, IPODs, MP3 players, PDAs, and other electronic devices. If any of the above items are brought on school grounds, the item will be confiscated and parents will be contacted by a school administrator. A report will be filed and parents will have to pick up the item between the hours of 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM in the front office.
Classroom Procedures and Norms
Classroom Procedures
1. Students will line up quietly in front of the classroom door in a single file line and wait
until the teacher allows them in.
2. Upon entering the room students will pick up Interactive Reader from the back shelf, be seated, and begin working on the designated warm up each day. All tardies will be recorded after the bell.
3.Students will write their first and last name, date, and period on the top left hand side of all assignments.

4. When absent students will follow the classroom procedure for make up work.
- Student will check my website for designated work within the class.
- Makeup homework is due the following school day.
5. Pencils will be sharpened at a designated time given by the teacher.
6. Students will use the bathroom between classes or use one of two bathroom passes per month.
7.All work not completed in class becomes homework due the following school day.
8.Students will not be allowed to go to their lockers during class.
9.The teacher will dismiss the class, not the bell.
10. Students will carry with them a homework assignment notebook.
11. Students may use only pencils or pens (blue or black ink only).
12. Students will raise their hands to speak in class.
13. Students will not leave their seat unless instructed by the teacher

1. Students will respect their peers, teacher, school property, and self at all times.
2. All conversation will be positive, appropriate, meaningful, and uplifting to the class.
3. Students will follow all instructions from the teachers swiftly, orderly, and without complaint.
4. All other school rules designated in the student handbook will be applied and enforced.
